My name is Rap, its not the "rap" music. Its my nickname - my initials actually. I'm 19 years old and going to college in UMASS Boston for music. My main instrument is the guitar, although I am versitile. I can also play the keyboard, mallets (xylo, marimba, bells, etc), bass, and the drum set. Mmmm.... I don't have a band, but I and this kid have been writing music. I have the programs, Sonar 4 and FL Studio XXL 6 to wok with. I also plan to be a rock star or a successful musician in the music industry.

Something Stupid is Blocking ME!!!

June 25th, 2009 + 2:06 AM  ·  Rapcloudstrife

Man, I hate songwriter's block.  Who likes songwriting's block? No one in this entire universe. Not just musicians, painters, writers, and all other kind artist too get this hindrance to creativeness. You feel like your stuck, unable to move, and scared to do anything. You can't think of anything, it's not good. You get me?

You know you want to write something but you just don't know what to write. It's similar to when you want to continue the conversation to the attractive girl you've just met 5 minutes ago, but you're out of pick up lines. It's like, I have so many songs, lyrics and instrumentals that I just started but can't finish them for another blillion years. It's very hard, I need to get rid of this thing.

Something stupid is blocking me!! I don't want it.... Here listen to this story. Okay I just made an instrumental. A riff that I made on the keyboard a longtime ago. I just remembered it when I was jamming last week on the keyboard. Then my mom heard it, she says it was good and she wanted to write lyrics for it.

So I guess I wanted to progress that idea and I did. Here's the link to that little instrumental. http://forum.bandamp.com/Audio_Review/7395.html (

Mystery of the Audio Review

January 10th, 2009 + 3:01 PM  ·  Rapcloudstrife

I think bandamp is a great place to expose your music and ask for improvements. You could put your songs in there and poeple can rate it, and tell what they think of it so the writer have knowledge of outside opinion of the song. It's awesome, but the thing's I seriously wonder is the mystery of the Audio Review section in the Forum.

Take a look at this... http://forum.bandamp.com/Audio_Review.html
In that section if you notice every song and thread started has reviews/replies as the number tell. And it shows the number for the views is way higher than the replies.

Real examples from the section of the first page are here -->> 17r (replies) : 1,222v (views), 3r : 114v, 0r : 69v, 1r : 57v, and many more - just look at the page.
One thread has 91 views and a one decent zero reply.

What is up with that?! I guess one can say that well... some other songs are just better to be looked at (even I think of that too), but are these songs not good enough or worthy of time? Or maybe, there's a glitch at the bandamp's server only for the forums. Another possibility is that outsiders and non-bandamp members come across these pages. Whatever it is.... I don't know and I don't think anybody knows either. If someone luckily knows or examined the forum carefully enough to produce a conclusion, please PM.

My Last Love Song (For You)

August 28th, 2010 + 1:08 AM  ·  Rapcloudstrife

This is my last love song for you
you have brought me down to this world
woke me up and broke my heart
It's my last goodbye for you
I should let you go off my head
Time to move and give me rest

Verses 1, 2, 3, 4:
Little me was so innocent
I placed my heart into my sight
Walking like a newborn child again
I stopped to face in front of your eyes

I've followed you where you go
we walked on the left side of the road
there's no turning back, we tried slow and fast
we found out that nothing ever last

We were hot like the fire red
love sure felt like it was on the flow
crawling under the blankets on your bed
breathing side by side is what I know

Then went went by life like a wave
up and down that seem liked a maze
there's not turning back, we tried slow and fast
we found out that nothing ever last

You were my discovery
I found this love through you and me
You my first diary
Filled up pages of memories

I just literally finished this song 5 min ago, been working on it for about two months now. I'm glad to be back here at bandamp!

Her name is Stefani Germanotta aka Lady Gaga

November 22nd, 2009 + 11:11 PM  ·  Rapcloudstrife

I was just surfing on youtube (I should be doing my essay hehe) but I found this interesting video. Lady Gaga's real name is Stefani Germanotta. This was in 2005 as the title says so, and this was her before the major record producers, major music business leaders changed her. It's very different, I call this talent. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPZnmYwCu0E
Just thinking of sharing in the bandamp community. It also might change some ppl's views about her whole identity. It definitely made me appreciate her more (back then).
Tell me what you think about this aight?

what key is this progression in?

November 8th, 2009 + 11:11 PM  ·  Rapcloudstrife

Me and my friend were jamming the other day on a weird pogression and we decided to make it to a song.
The basic progression is: Fdim7-Emaj7-Cmaj7-Bbm7. The problem is that I kinda find it hard to change it up a bit. So what key is this in? cause I think it would be easier for me to transition between parts of the song and have it easier for make the melody for the vocals.

I know I could go where ever I want to go with those, but I don't what it to make it more wierd to the ear. I want to have it atleast relatively close to the tonic. A pre-chorus I was thinking of and played for a bit was after the Bbm7, was to replace the seventh with a G natural. And play the progression Am-Bm-C#m-C#m7 with A on the pedal tone for the prechorus. But I think I could come up something better with that.

So yea....  Any suggestions where I could go from Fdim7-Emaj7-Cmaj7-Bbm7? and what key is it in? Thanks!

I Testify

Here's one orginal. This recording would probably be the last one before college starts. *sigh* classes starts next week.
Here's the lyrics down here:
you have captured me, by your resonating light
you have set me free, from the veil i was behind
in my dark you found me, when I thought you weren't there
twice again you showed me, your holy presence's in the air

cause you shed your blood to save me
cause of that I will testify

I testify to you my king
how you lifted me under your wings
I testify till the whole world know
how awesome, is my savior

you have broken my fall
from living a meaningless life
you have passed by my flaws
to give me a brigher sight
you have made me whole
you have saved my soul

you found me
you lift me
you held me
you saved me

I made a youtube video for it for those of you guys want to listen and watch too... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duE09xvZ5dE
I know this is controvcersial, but it's what I like. Enjoy!
